Our Founder

Jaime Jorge

Jaime began playing the violin at the age of five. Born and raised in communist Cuba, he was given many opportunities - including an offer to study in Moscow with some of the greatest musicians of our time - if only he and his family would renounce their belief in God. They refused. When Jaime was ten, miraculously, his family was given the opportunity to leave the country.

They came to the United States, where Jaime received a Christian education and violin lessons with eminent violinist and teacher Cyrus Forough. But Jaime dreamed of being a missionary doctor, and in 1994 he entered the University of Illinois School of Medicine. In 1996, he left medical school and a promising medical career to follow God’s call to devote his life to full-time music ministry.

Since 1988 he has traveled over seven million air miles and has played in over 80 countries on six continents (he’s waiting for an invitation to play for penguins in Antarctica to visit all seven continents). He has recorded and released 18 albums.

Our Story

Healing Music was founded by Jaime Jorge as a way to extend the reach of his music ministry beyond the concert stage. While his performances have touched countless lives, he saw an opportunity to make a deeper and more lasting impact—reaching people not just for an evening, but for a lifetime. What began as a natural extension of his calling grew into a vision to share Jesus with the world in ways beyond what a musical performance could accomplish.

As that vision took shape, Healing Music began developing outreach programs designed to meet both spiritual and practical needs. These efforts expanded into the creation of Missionary Music Schools in underserved communities, where children are given access to instruments, instruction, and mentorship. Through these programs, music became more than an art form—it became a bridge to faith, connection, and new opportunities for students and their families.

Today, Healing Music is a growing ministry overseeing a variety of programs around the world. From concerts and outreach initiatives to an expanding network of music schools, each effort is united by a common purpose: to use the life-changing power of music to share the love of Jesus Christ. As students grow, families are strengthened and communities are transformed—one life at a time, one note at a time.
